Each year, the GHIL awards a number of research scholarships to postgraduate students, Habilitanden and postdocs at German universities to enable them to carry out research in Britain. Scholarships are generally awarded for a period of up to three months only full monthsdepending on the requirements of the research project. They must also have obtained their doctorate and will normally have no more than five years postdoctoral research experience in an academic environment.
